Stop Overdose Nebraska works to educate the public about life-saving NARCAN, a fast-acting drug that can save someone who is experiencing an opioid overdose. STOPODNE is also committed to providing information on resources to get people the help they need. Resources include: statewide participating pharmacies in the free NARCAN program, Pharmacy Resources, First Responder Resources along with information on ordering NARCAN, Treatment Centers, Parent Resources and Veterans Resources.
Drug Deactivation Medication Pouches:
An important aspect of harm reduction is providing safe, environmentally friendly means to dispose of unused or expired medication. Region II Human Services receives funding to provide drug disposal pouches, or Deterra pouches that properly dispose of unused prescription/over the counter medications, including pills, patches and liquids. Deterra pouches are available to local businesses, health care providers, government entities and for personal use.
Lethal Means Safety:
We know that many suicidal crises are temporary with many people reporting they experienced a period of hesitancy during the crisis. Lethal means safety allows extra time for a change of heart or for someone else to intervene. Simply put, increasing the time and space required to access potentially dangerous items can significantly reduce the risk of suicide, save lives, and protect you and your loved ones. Lock boxes are designed to safeguard medication and firearms. Lock boxes offer a secure and effective way to prevent unauthorized access and misuse of dangerous items.
